Vida M. Nesbitt, 94, of Escalon died Monday at Oak Valley Care center, Oakdale.
Mrs. Nesbitt was a native of Bartlesville, Okla. She lived in Escalon five years she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Trottier, of Lemoore; daughter-in-law and primary caregiver, Margaret Nesbitt of Oakdale; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Private inurnment will be at Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward [Alameda Co.]. Deegan Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
Note 2: Escalon is in San Joaquin County, close to the southern border of the county. People in Escalon (pop 20,000) routinely go into Modesto (pop 200,000), in Stanislaus County, for back-to-school shopping, fancy restaurants and other “big city” attractions. Oakdale is even closer to Escalon than Modesto. It too is in Stanislaus County.
Notes I put on all of these, if I remember:
Deegen FC is still in business. They are in Escalon. You could look them up in an on-line phone book and write or call. They may have more information.
I will send you the microfilm print-out if you send me your address privately.
I do these to repay a small regiment of people who have helped me. If you have the inclination and ability, you can repay the favor by looking up an obituary for someone who posted a request on the GenForum page for your county.
