Ellen didn't have one in the Bee. I'll check the Turlock paper the next time I'm there.
[Note 1: for a period of about 10 years, in an effort to cope with declining sales and increasing costs, the Bee printed very short, "telegraphic" obituaries. This is a sad example. For the last several years they have charged for obituaries, and I have seen some that take 18 column inches and mentioned family out to first cousins.]
[Note 2: One of the staff members at the Stanislaus County Library, Modesto branch has indexed thousands of obituaries, which makes looking them up about seven times easier than it used to be, for us volunteers. If you feel grateful, you can send a donation to them.]

Some things I try to copy at the bottom of every obit I post:
1) I'm not related and didn't know the person. I do this to repay a number of people who did lookups for me, in a general way. They almost never need a lookup in Stanislaus County, but others do. If you would like to "pay it forward", I suggest the GenForum site for your county. There are usually unanswered obit requests.
2) I’ll send you the paper copy if you send me your address via my profile.
3) The cemetery is still in business. They might be able to add to the data.
