"Mule pack trains packed supplies to Covelo in the early 1860s before any wagon roads were built over the mountains."
"These pack mules packed to all of the sheep and cattle ranges in the coast range mountains.History says that on some days, there would be over 100 pack mules leaving Paskenta with supplies for the sheep and cattle camps.They also packed supplies to Covelo and brought back wool, then hired a rancher to haul it to the boats or railroad for shipping."
This booklet also talks about a stage coach that went from Red Bluff through Henleyville to Gleasonville, then to Paskenta and on to Newville with mail and passengers, 1889.No names mentioned
