I am researching the life history of William 'Bill' Carsoner/Carsner and his brother Daniel 'Dan' Carsoner/Carsner who mined/lived in the Calaveras County area from the mid 1840s until the early 1870s.
Bill married Mary Anna Dick (her Miwok Indian name was Chalk-e-yet). Bill and Mary Anna had one son, Thomas 'Tom' Carsoner (b.5-6-1869 West Pont, Calaveras County, d.12-28-1953 Sonora, Tuolumne County, CA). MANY DESCENDANTS LIVED/DIED IN TUOLUMNE COUNTY.
Tom married Rosa 'Rosie' George circa 1894 and they had ten or eleven children.
Dan Carsoner (b.4-25-1909 Sheep Ranch, Calaveras County) is the youngest son of Tom. Dan married Josephine Thompson)
I would like to make contact with descendants/researchers of this line in an effort to fill in some of the gaps in my research.
Bill and Dan Carsoner/Carsner left Calaveras/Tuolumne County area in the late 1860s or early 1870s to go to OR to help move their mother and some of their brothers to AZ. The family group arrived in AZ in 1875. Bill and Dan were wintering a herd of sheep in the Palo Duro Canyon, TX in 1876; it is believed they intended to return to CA and OR as Bill had a family in CA and Dan had bought land in OR. However, Bill and Dan were murdered in Palo Duro Canyon, TX in early 1877. A brother to Bill and Dan (John Casner) went on a revenge rampage in 1877 and killed 9 men in revenge (there was no law in that part of TX at the time - not even the Army).
Anyone descending from this line or researching this line, I will be glad to share information/sources. I have some wonderful old photos of the family also.
