I have been to the site of the former mining town of Bachelor, Colorado several times. The mountain side location has been swept by snow avalanches and rain storms. Only one tiny structure in the tree line was still standing when I was last there, a few years ago. Access to the area is limited to a one way, narrow, moutainous, mining road; that is used mostly by 4 wheel drive vehicles. However, I have made the entire drive several times in cars; in good weather in the summer. Several cars have been destroyed on that road, by other people, over the pass few decades. The town is higher up the mountains, then Creede.
