Am just now getting back into the hobby after burning myself out a few years ago. Have copies of some wonderful books of newspaper extracts that Mary McRoberts did in 1991. They cover the period 1859-1900 and one is : "Boulder County, Colorado / Marriages, Anniversaries, Divorces, Births and Birthdays / 1859-1900 / Newspaper Abstracts / Mary McRoberts / Boulder, Co/ July 1991" And the other is : "Boulder County, Colorado / Deaths and the Insane / 1859-1900 / Newspaper Abstracts / Mary McRoberts / Boulder, Co / July 1991"
I trust her extracts but beware of my typing. Hope I'm accurate. Found the following entries -
1.Obits - "McAllister, child of I.T. McAllister, bur 'last Sat week'. d of erysipelas. (NAC Friday 31 Mar 1882:3) [NAC=Boulder News & Courier]
2.Marriages - "McAllister, Daniel E. m 16 June 1897 Lulu M. Hankins at home of bride's mother on the university campus by Rev. Hornbeck. Both grew up in Boulder. Groom is secretary of McAllister Lumber & Supply Co. Couple will live in J.C. Hankins home on W. Spruce St. (BN 17 June 1897:1 ; HW 16 June 1897:8) [BN=Boulder News ; HW=Boulder County Herald].
[in an unrelated story a man is described as "Employed by I.T. McAllister in lumberyard, Louisville."] 3. Births - "McAllister Dan E. & Lulu (Hankins) - dau b 5 Dec 1900 Boulder. Dan was in Denver picking up Lulu's mother, Mrs. Fry, when the baby was born. (HW 5 Dec 1900:8; MR)" [HW=Boulder County Herald ; MR="Boulder County, Colorado Marriage Records 1860-1900" by Wanda Armstead and Rose Northrop]
4. [I believe this is a misprint so I'll send it and you can intrepret] Birthdays - "McAllister, Mrs L.T. [sic ; I.T. ?] celebrated her birthday 19 May 1896 with Mrs. P.J. Werley, Mrs. J.A. Kennedy and J.S. Switzer. All share the same birthday. A surprise party was given them. 'There were six tables of orokinole players. The surprisers brought in ice cream and cake. (HW 20 May 1896:1)" [HW=Boulder County Herald].
My books only go to 1900 , looks like Dan was first and the others were married/children/died post 1900. Hope this helps. David Knowles
