Hi William, Thanks for responding. THE given name of PASCHEL jumps out at me; I recall finding it both as a given and surname in NC---must have something to do w/my line as I would NOT remember it. Were there slaveholders in your line? My ggrandfather, WM LAWRENCE WEELDON, Black, was born 1829 SC, and married CHARATA BROWN, mulatto, born 1833 NC---believe both were slaves of the WHEELDON/WHILDEN family of SC------find them first in 1870 NC My grandfather removed to Hartford, CT where my Dad, WILBUR ROLAND WHEELDIN was born in 1909--------suspect this is where the RI Indian WEEDEN connection comes in, altho my Dad always said his line was Blackfoot Indian???; altho, find that there was an SC/RI connection from the 1800s. WOW-----HOW complicated these family histories can become. Suspect also, that some VA ancestors may have been among those who migrated to NS and CA in 1783, and working on that angle also. Warm regards, carol.
