I am looking for any information I can get on Rebecca Long born about 1805 in DE.Rebecca married John Pierce before 1828.John and Rebecca had two daugters, Hannah A.(b.1828-d.1920) and Sarah Elizabeth (b.1835-d.1920).Rebecca was widowed in Feb of 1844 and I can find no record of her after or before this date other than an undated tomestone in Newark Union Cemetery and mention of her as "mother" on her two daughter's death certificates.Hannah remained in Brandywine Hdr. after her fathers death and became the housekeeper of David Beeson, a postion she held for most of her life (Hannah was mentioned in David's will but not as a relative). Sarah became the ward of Curtis Grubb but I don't think she ever lived with him.Sarah attended Shelpot School (info gathered from an oil painting done by her son Winfield Bardsley) but basically drops from sight in 1844 and reappears in 1856 when she marries William Bardsley of Philadelpia. If anyone has any Long relatives in this area I would appreciate hearing from you. I really don't know where to go from here.
