I'm trying to find information on two of the Baker lines that I am related to. I have been told that they meet, but have not yet been able to find the connection.
The first is Lizzy Ellen Baker (b. 1877, MD), daughter of J. Salathiel Baker (b. Oct 1851, MD) and Nancy Catherine Esham ( b. 1852, MD). The family moved from the St. Martin's area of Wocester Co., Maryland to the Baltimore Hundred area around 1880. I believe that Salathiel's parents were Nathaniel Baker (b. October 1826 in MD) and Mary Elizabeth Donoway (b. abt. 1830, MD), but I can't take it back any further.
The other family is Edward Vance Baker (b. 1876). He is the son of Johnathan Folk Baker (b. 1824) and Lovey Murray (b. 1832). Likewise, I can't take this back any further.
These families were both residing in the Selbyville area in the 1880 census, along with the Baker families of Charles J. and Alice J. Baker, Elijah S. and Sallie M. Baker, William C. and Charlotte Baker, and Seth and Maggie E. Baker. They all appear to have come from Maryland (again, probably the Wocester Co. area).
Do you know anything about these families and their ancestors. How they are all connected? Thanks for your help!
