Retha: I'd be the last person to claim that my files are without errors!!! But to say "there were many mistakes"??? And I really don't think there are any mistakes at all regarding Daniel Sumner/Elizabeth Douglas/Anderson/Cole/Sumner!
In the 1880 Columbia Co., Fla census, Daniel Sumner and his wife Elizabeth are living with, "Anderson, James" SS (stepson) 16 yrs old. "Seller", SS, 7 years old "Elijah", SS, 6 years old and "Heziah", NR (no relation), 25 years old
The only "Anderson" there is James, son of John L. Anderson and Elizabeth. (the daughter Julia would have been 22 years old and probably married by the 1880 census time.)
In the 1920 Columbia Co., census Elizabeth Sumner, 73,is "Enumerated with Cole, Sellers C"
And in the space for "Relationship to Above" (Elizabeth Sumner) is written "Mother".
Other researcher's files also reflect the Anderson/Cole marriages.
But, Please, I'm in no way attempting to change your mind (or your files!!)Just look at the evidence and believe what you want!
And....I'd sure appreciate a copy of your file if you'd be kind enough to send.Thanks.
