John Gadsden Smith son of Jean Love who was the daughter of Edward Love who was the son of Alexander Love is said to be the first white child born in Gadsden County. He was born on Sept. 8, 1822 at teh Indian Agency, which was on the place where he is buried (owned by Carl Spooner in 1941) His musket is in the possession (that would be in1941) of Mrs. John Gadsden Smith Shepherd (whose husband was named for him). He married Jan 28th, 1849, Mary Ann McDougald, who was born Dec. 4, 1822. He died Nov. 6th, 1870. They had on children.
