I would like to make contact with descendents of William Henry BRETT, Sr, born October 15, 1845 in Dale Co, AL and Died February 20, 1910 in Holmes Co, FL. He married twice. I believe his first wife was Sarah Ann HEWETT, b. abt 1847 in FL and died bet. 1886-1893 in Holmes Co, FL, daughter of Moses Hewett and Mary A. Unknown. They had five children: William Henry Brett, Jr., Mary A. Brett, Cornelia Brett, Martin Moses Brett, and Jesse Lee Brett. Sarah died just a few years after Jesse Lee was born. W. Henry married Lora Elvira BUTTRAM, May 18, 1893 according to her widow's pension. They had seven children: Esther B. Brett, Edna Mae Brett, Andrew Brett, Mae Elizabeth Brett, James Albert Brett, Maud Brett, and Alvin Bryant Brett. W. Henry enlisted in 1862 and served for a short time in Co. G, 6th FL Infantry, CSA. He suffered from the exposure and lack of supplies common with the troops from Florida, remaining ill (possibly rheumatic fever) a great part of the time he was with the 6th. He was sent home to FL in 1863 to recover. On his pension application he stated he suffered from severe arthritis and rheumatism due to the war. He is buried at Cedar Grove Methodist Church in Holmes Co, FL. I would like to add detail to his children and grandchildren, locate a picture of him and confirm the name of his first wife (my ancestor).
