THANK YOU so much for all the valuable information you have posted.
I am a descendant of Bronson Norris that is on the 1860 Holmes Co.Fl- Cerregorda P.O census. Myself and my family are registered Eastern Creek Indians on his side of the family. I am under the understanding that possibly from his mother. I don't know WHO his parents are and that has been my BIG Brick wall.
Here is a portion of what is stated in my grandmother's application for Indian citizenship.
To the Council of the Creek Nation East of the Mississippi: Bay Minnette,Al

We think Matilda may have been the sister to S.E. Norris' grandfather Daniel Duncan Norris. Our many searches have not turned up this info. Daniel D Norris' father was called Burrell who had two brothers named Aboud & Icabod. (Both have turned up in census reports.) But our Burrell and a family with Children named Daniel Duncan and Matilda Caroline who married a Mayo can not be found. There was another brother also. Well we know of the Mayo's and the Florida Norris connection. However nothing of the Holly marriage. Let us hear from you. S. E. Norris/lynn
