Betty Lou Hill, 85, of Vero Beach, died April 16, 1998, at Indian River Memorial Hospital after a prolonged illness.
She was born Oct. 7, 1912, in Corbin, Ky., and moved to Vero Beach 37 years ago from her birthplace.
She was employed for many years in the cafeteria at Vero Beach Elementary School. She was a Baptist.
Surviving are one son, James Hill, of Titusville; seven daughters, Rose Mae Hedrick, Jeanette Ellison, and Brenda Elso, all of Vero Beach, Edith Hickey, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joan Wilson, of Fellsmere, Marlene Robbins, of Milledgeville, Ga., and Tenna Sprinkle, of Eldridge, Ala.; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Cox-Gifford Funeral Home, Vero Beach.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Buddy Johns officiating. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach. Published in The Vero Beach Press Journal 4/17/1998
