Will share what little I have: Seven Harper brothers left home in Social Circle, GA one morning to join the Confederacy. The youngest brother, too young to join at age 14, went to work in a textile factory supervising women and children making thread. The seven brothers were never heard from again, although at some point someone said one was seen in Tennessee with a herd of horses. The youngest brother is the father of Edwin James Harper and the grandfather of Art Smith Harper all of Texas. The family came to Texas after the war by way of Galveston. I'm working on finding the name of the surviving brother. Be glad to share any info.
