Hello. I recently learned that my Hueman family of Germany, Chicago, and later Mower Co., Minn. is related to the Huemann/Hemann family of Germany, Johnsburg & McHenry, Ill., and Stacyville, Iowa. The relationship is established through DNA evidence. I'm hoping to learn how these two families connect exactly.
My earliest HUEMAN ancestor is Henry A. HUMANN, b. Germany 15 June (or July) 1821, d. Lodi Township, Mower Co., Minn., 14 Sept. 1902, m. (1) possibly Ill. by 1858 Angeline "Angie" HEINZ, b. Germany 1825-1835, d. probably Ill., before the 1870 census; m. (2) probably Ill. by 1870 Minnie PUTSMAN, b. Germany 4 July 1849, d. Lodi Township, Mower Co., Minn., 20 July 1929. Children, by first wife: Nicholas H., Catharine, Anton/Anthony T., John, Mary A. Children, by second wife: Elizabeth, Henry, Nicholas L., Mathias Michael. The 1900 census shows Henry immigrated in 1852. His birth, baptism, marriage, immigration & naturalization records have not been found. Other records list him as Heman/Hemann, Hermann, Homan/Homann, Homer, and Human/Humann. The current spelling of the family name is Hueman.
