Looking for any information regarding my DURBIN and SHOEMAKER family of Idaho.
My great grandfather was Winfield Scott Shoemaker Birth 9 Aug 1879 in Kentucky, Death 01 Dec 1915 in Elk River, Clearwater, Idaho.Died in Potlatch lumber mill accident leaving his widow and three small children.
Scott was married to my great grandmother,
Eva J Durbin Birth Jan 1892 in Vernon County, Missouri Death Dec 01, 1950 in Troy, Latah, Idaho After Scott died, she remarried twice, and each time, her husband died soon thereafter.Remarriage #1 was to Adolph/Adelph Hendrickson. They had a baby, Teddy John, who was born in 1918 and died a month later. Remarriage #2 was to Harvey A. Rader.
Winfield Scott was a descendent of William Riley Shoemaker, b. 1775 Maryland. Scott's father, (Wm) Peter Shoemaker married Jane V. Dale (b 1853 Wise, Lee, Virginia).
Eva was the daughter of Sudie and Thomas J. Durbin, of MO and formerly of KY.Eva's family were also in Idaho and included siblings Franklin, Logan, Florence and Oscar Durbin.
Eva moved to Seattle with my grandmother, Dorothy Shoemaker, plus Dorothy's brother Clyde and sister Virginia. Dorothy and Clyde are then listed under guardianship in 1924 but Eva and Virginia (also known as Belle) moved away and I can find no other record of either.Eva is buried next to Scott in Idaho and is listed as dying in 1950. Troy, Latah, Idaho Burnt Ridge Cemetery, B1-L16
Where was Eva for those 26 years? What happened to Virginia/Belle?
I would love to connect to any family and would appreciate any information anyone cares to share.Thank you!
