Here is a James Nelson Reed, also born in Missouri.Since I don't know the family or if he is the cousin of Samuel Scarborough, I'm including this information on this person.I'm only including it as I don't know for certain who you seek. The 1900 Census for Hebron, Nebraska: James Nelson Reed is living with his parents Edward E. and Elizabeth C.He was born Sept 1893 in Missouri, (also identified as being born 2 Sep 1894 on his WWI Draft card). He was born in Springfield, Missouri. He was living in Goshen Co, Wyoming when he registered for the draft. This person died in france during World War I.His body was returned to the US for burial in October 1921. ---Another person identified as Nelson James Reed was born in 1893, died 1970.Married to Frances Lillian Bowers.Father of James H, Mary Frances and Paul B. Reed (1916).
The other "researcher" wrote: > A Gwendolyn Josephine Reed married David Michael Wellis in Cassia Co., ID. Source: Brigham Young Univ. Idaho, -----That marriage was in 1987... probably NOT the correct person
Leland Young was born 22 May 1924 in Mackey, Custer County, died June 1990 in Clear Lake, Skagit Co, WA.
As far as James Nelson Reed, there are no records other than the 1930 Census. It would help for you to identify his date of birth, if you have it, or the names of his parents or siblings, this would help eliminate others by that name, or prove the correct person.
I do not support the comments made against Gwen, her first marriage to Young may have been his fault. Her marriage to Reed, "could" have been upon his death or other reasons. If she is the correct person and married Joseph Campbell, that puts the end of the marriage to Reed between the census of 1930 and her marriage to him. There is just no ONLINE records.Hopefully someone IN Custer County can help.
