J.W. Boor Passes Away After Long Illness
John W. Boor died at his home on Fruitland avenue Tuesday morning, about 4 o'clock after an illness of almost two years duration.Mr. Boor was born in Stanton, Indiana, January 7th, 1851, and was married to Mary Elizabeth Slocum, at Lincreek, Missouri, September 24, 1872.Eleven children were born to this union, six of whom are living.
Mr. Boor and family came to the Payette valley in 1907 from Nebraska.Two years ago he rented his farm and purchased a home in Fruitland where he resided up to the time of his death.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife, three sons, James H. and George A., of Fruitland, Chas. E., Ironside, three daughters, Mrs. Charles Lockner, of Fruitland, Mrs. Eva Wilson, of Nebraska, and Mrs. L.F. Wells, of Emmett and nineteen grandchildren, the eldest of whom, Corporal John Boor, is now in France.
The funeral services were held in the Baptist church Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. Knight of New Plymouth officiating.Interment was made in the Riverside cemetery at Payette.The bereaved family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their loss.
