For over 30 years, I have been searching for the identity of my Great Grand Father.I have made trips to Cincinnati, and hours on the web.
My Great Grand Mother Regina Netschert (Born about 14 May 1874) came from Germany and landed on April 2nd with her mother and sister and possible brother. Her parents died in the flu epidemic in Ohio in 1884 and 1885.She and her sister went to St. Aloysius Orphanage. Regina shows up in the 1900 Federal Census living in Cincinnati and married to Frank Miley (born 1865 in PA).
Their daughter Genta is 1 year old (mis-transcribed as “Genda”.Genta Marie was born 28 April 1899; listed as born in Ohio on Census records; family tradition of Cincinnati.
In the 1910 Fed Cen. she shows up as a widow in Chicago with her daughter Genta (my Grand Mother), list with the last name of O’Malley.
In the 1920 Fed Cen. Regina shows up remarried to William Breckenfelder. She dies in 1958. When Genta Marie O’Malley marries Fred Rieman, she lists her maiden name as O’Malley. Her death certificate (1960; Elmhurst, DuPage, Illinois) shows her father listed as Patrick O’Malley, though this may be incorrect.
No SSDI records for Regina or Genta. So who was the husband of Regina (and father of Genta); was it Frank Miley or a Patrick O’Malley.
This has been a Spiritual journey for me; any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have no marriage record or divorce record for Regina to either a Patrick O’Malley or Frank Miley. Nor can I find a birth record for Genta Marie.
So between 1900 and 1910 Regina either became a widow by Frank Miley, or Patrick O’Malley dying, or they divorced or she left him and changed her name.
Best Regards, Merry Christmas and God Bless, Kyle Kopitke
