Thank you so much for answering my inquiry.I have gotten very few answers to my postings in my years on Genforum.
Most of the information about Simon came from his obituary. Guess Alley did know something about him.Info on his obituary came from a daughter and all is filled out "unknown". On one of the census records (1870) they are listed as Samuel and Anna Vestal. But definitely our Simon and Alley because of the children listed. This would see a little late to be trying to hide! HA!
Also in the "History of Dallas County, Iowa 1879, Biographical Directory, Boone Township" there are two listings, one for S. H. Vestal and another for Samuel H. Vestal....the information is almost identical. Now this is really strange.Didn't anyone notice that but me...like back in 1879? HA!
Thomas Vestal (B-Abt.1814) was brother of Simon.
Joseph(B.1772), Benjamin(B.1777) and Ruth(B.1781) were brothers and sister.....hopefully all children of David Anthony and Sarah Cole Chamness.Gets confusing with the Ruth Newlin Vestal....perhaps wife of Benjamin?
We believe Joseph was father of Simon Hadley Vestal.
Since we just recently connected the Newlin name....or at least I have..... maybe we can find out something through the Newlins.....like maybe thru the Hadleys.
Thank you for your interest.
BTW....How did you ever find out about your ggrandfather Birdsell? Now that is something to have in your genealogy!
