Hi, Deborah -
What a generous assist to those of us who are geographically removed from Coles County, but looking for those challenging early settlers!
I note with interest, moreover, that your relatives include two of the surnames I'm looking for--Carter and Collins.Perhaps you will find that we're related!
In any case, any help you can provide with regard to the following would be sincerely appreciated -
Robert BOYD and Nancy CARTER, m. 10 Dec 1840 in Coles Co.
(I have a copy of their marriage record, and evidence that Robert moved from Spencer Co., KY to Coles Co. in 1833.I have his parents' names, his birth date and believe I can get his death date with some ease.I don't have any information whatsoever, however, on Nancy Carter, whose parents may have also been early settlers in Coles Co.)
George CAMPBELL and Elizabeth COLLINS, m. 12 Sep 1831 in Coles Co.
(Their son, Zachariah's, KS death certificate indicates that both George and Elizabeth--"Betsy"--were born in OH.Other than that, I know nothing more about this couple or their respective ancestors.)
Thank you, in advance, for sharing any information you may have.
