JOHN W. LAWYER CALLED BY DEATH.......... John W. Lawyer, age 85 years, a resident of Hutton township for seventy-four years, died at his home in that township at 6 o'clock Wednesday evening. Death is attributed to paralysis, the stroke visiting him two years ago. He had been seriously ill since Tuesday morning. The funeral services will be held at the Hurricane church at 11 o'clock Friday morning and interment will follow in Hurricane cemetery. John W. Lawyer was well and favorably known to many of the citizens of Hutton, Ashmore and Charleston townships. He was a member of the Oak Ridge United Bretheren church and was prominent in his township. His wife died nine years ago and he is survived by ten children, namely: Mrs. A. J. Handley of Vandalia, Ill.; James Lawyer of Terre Haute; Atwell Lawyer of Hutton; Mrs. Lottie Levitt of Newton, Ill.; Mrs. Hiram Rogers of Hutton; Edward Lawyer, south of Charleston; Mrs. Thomas Bennett and David Lawyer of Charleston; Henry Lawyer of Mattoon, and Oscar Lawyer at home.
