Hi Barb, I sent this e-mail to your at your alo e-mail but I don't think you are getting it.So, I thought I would post it on genforum.
I would be thrilled if you could you could take a picture of Elizabeth (Martin) Hollisters tombstone!! Please let me know what I would owe you.Would you see if Elizabeth is buried by any other Martin's.See if she is buried next to a a Mary E (Jerks) Hollister.Charles Hollister marred Mary first on Sept. 07, 1887.We never knew that my Great-grandfather was married before until we got his obit.My mom Gwen Rose (Ruckman) lived him after her mother Helen (Hollister) Ruckman died when she was 8 years old in 1936.My mom never knew that he was married before.I don't think that Charles Hollister & Mary (Jerks) had children, but I would love to get Mary's obit to find out for sure. But, I do not know when Mary died but it must have been from Sept 07, 1887 and Aug 02, 1899 when he married Elizabeth.
I do have Elizabeth's death cert and it does not have her parents names on it.I have Elizabeth & Charles Marriage cert and it does not state who her parents are.Elizabeth's obit does not state her parents names either.
I think Elizabeth was Catholic, but I am not sure. My mom is Methodist, her mother Helen was Methodist but my mom said she thought that Helen's brothers were Catholic.I think Elizabeth was Catholic & her husband Charles was Methodist.Elizabeth died when my grandmother Helen was 3 years old. My mom thinks Charles took the children to both the Catholic & Methodist church after Elizabeth died. But if Elizabeth was Catholic I don't know what church she would have been baptized in.All I know is that she was born in Mercer Co.I don't even know what town.I know that she was born in Merer Co. from her obit.
I don't know who Robert J. (grandson) is on the 1930 Champaign census is. Charles as far as I know only had two grandchildren Rose my mom (Gwendolyn Rose) and her brother Talbert Jefferson Ruckman. (Unless Robert J. is written wrong and it is really Talbert J.)Talbet was born in 1927.Robert son-in-law might be my grandfather (Talbert Jefferson Sr. ??)
