Ray Gleckler Funeral services for Ray Gleckler, 75, of Barry, who died at 1:05 p.m. Friday, Sept.30, 1977, in Illini Community Hospital at Pittsfield, were held Monday at 2p.m. in the Barry United Methodist Church. The Rev. Gilbert Fletcher officiated. Burial was in Park Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Gleckler was born on Nov. 1, 1901, in Hadley Township in Pike County, ILL., a son of Harold and Anna Richards Gleckler. He was a lifetime active member of the United Methodist Church of Barry where he served as choir director for over 40 years. He was a director of Barry Mutual Insurance Company, a Pike County School Board Trustee, and active in Masonic services. He was a member of Barry Lodge 34, AF &AM, Royal Arch Masons, Barry Order of Eastern Star, Quincy Consistory (A.A.S.R.) and Ascalon Commandery 49 (Knights Templar). He married Laura Ruth Hartoon in 1931. Surviving are the wife: a son Robert of Barry; and five grandchildren, Cindy, Bryce, and Bradley of Barry and Tony and Dena of Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by one son, Harold. Masonic Services were held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Gill-Powell Funeral Home, Barry. Meorials may be made to the United Methodist Church at Barry.
