By the way, I do have ANDERSONS in my family, mostly from N/W Saline Co., and S/E Franklin County. Some first names are THORNSBERRY C. ANDERSON, WILLIAM ANDERSON, THOMAS ANDERSON, ZURIAH A. ANDERSON (1835-1908) who married TERRELL HUSTON CARDWELL (1826-1870), parents of LODEMIA CARDWELL (1870-1960), who married AMBROSE SUMMERS (1859-1914).They were parents of MONNIE DOROTHY SUMMERS (1893-1984), who married OSCAR WHETSTONE (1874-1959), and were the parents of AUDREY LUCILLE WHETSTONE (1913-present), who married CLARENCE EZRA HART (1910-1979), son of HENRY EZRA HART (1877-1965) and LILLIE ANN HEDGES (1878-1960).CLARENCE and AUDREY are my mom's parents.
Other ANDERSON names are ALBERT A., JOHN, etc.I'm rattling all this off by memory, but I know that WILLIAM and MILLY ANDERSON are patriarchs of my branch, being born in North Carolina around the Revolutionary War era (I have the dates). Then they moved to the Cumberland River Valley, first in Tennessee, then into western Kentucky, like around Graves County, maybe?.Then aroun the 1830's or so moved into what was then Gallatin County, Illinois, but meandered into the western part which became Saline County in 1847 I believe.
Some spread into adjoining N/E Williamson County, and Knights Township in S/W Hamilton County, but I'm sure that they had uncles and cousins who stayed in what remained Gallatin County, and they may have gone north across the line into White County.I'm interested in finding out more about these people.
ZURIAH ANDERSON's father died between the 1840 and 1850 Census, but I am sticking with the probability that he is the THOMAS ANDERSON that disappears then.ZURIAH had a sister whose name I can't remember right now, and a brother named HENRY C. ANDERSON, I believe.ZURIAH's mother I think was named SARAH _______.ZURIAH is buried in an unmarked grave next to her husband HUSTON CARDWELL in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church cemetery near West End, in the N/W corner of Saline Co.There are CARDWELLS and ANDERSONS all over Saline County and the four-county area where Saline, Hamilton, Franklin and Williamson Counties intersect.
Well, it's late and I must get to bed.We have tomorrow - whoops - TODAY! off at school so I'm planning on sleeping in for a rare change. But I had no idea it was 4:00 in the morning.Seems like I've only been sitting here for a couple of hours.
