James Peacock was the birth father of Lucy Peacock born August 08, 1837 in Jackson Mississippi. Her mother's name was never mentioned.By 1850 Lucy was living with Thomas Peacock and his wife in Peoria, Illinois, and perhaps had been with them for a very long time. She was a member of their household and listed in the 1850 census.Lucy married William Proctor of White County, Illinois on December 30, 1854.From there they moved to Hamilton County, Illinois (McCleansboro), where they ran a resturant called the "ST. JAMES". William died in 1896-Lucy carried on with the business.Five years before her death in 1917 she became an homebound and lived with a nurse looking after her, in her home. They had no children together that we are aware of.
Does anyone know about how Lucy came to be living in White County? How was her father James related to Thomas Peacock from Peoria, I do know they both are from England, but have no clue as to if they were related as brothers, or cousins.Of course Lucy had to have had a mother even if it was only biologically.Did her father give her to Thomas Peacock's family to be raised?Any help with this will be appreciated!!!
