Indiana-NC Lamb/Newsome link
I opened the Lamb Forum and typed Newsome into the blank slot and found your Newsome posts.
What prompted my interest is a DNA test. Two Lamb cousins who supposedly descended from Lambs who migrated from NC to GA and finally to AL match eight Newsoms/Newsomes and no other Lambs yet. Could our John have been adopted by a Lamb family? Do you have a Miriam Newsome who married a Lamb in the early 1800's or before?Perhaps John is even Mariam's grandson.
I have a copy of a photograph of our ancestor in a cardboard frame with Goshen, IN embossed on it. I am now dropping my idea of a possibility that his photo was added to a frame sold to another.
What is more interesting is the fact that our John married two Newton sisters born in SC. I had never heard of a son by the first Newton wife who must have died in the early 1840's. I wonder of John traveled to Indiana to see his son Newton Lamb.I do see one in Indiana who was born in NC.
Now we have learned that a Lamb we thought was John's oldest sibling has a descendant with a match to a Newton Lamb in Texas. His ancestors were located in AL.
One of John's brothers,Reddick Lamb, was first married to a Nancy Newton. This is quite confusing, to say the least.
I would like to have help solving this mystery.
