I still haven't found death certificate for Julia online. I can see why you are unsure of correct death date:
You wrote Julia Ann Orchard "married William F Cooley abt 1853. Unsure of death date." Then, "from A portrait and biographical album of Sedgwick County, Kansas, ... [Eliza's] mother died Nov. 24, 1873."
As you noted, in 1880 a seven-year-old son (Story W. Cooley) is being cared for by his elder sister Eliza Ross [= Sarah E. Cooley]. They are in Perry, Clinton, Indiana. The 1900 census in Stilaguamish, Snohomish, Washington gives date of birth for Story W. Cooley as February 1874, so clearly there is a contradiction here. Either the book is wrong, or the census is wrong (possibly both of course), by a year.
Sarah E. Cooley married John B. Ross October 1876 in Boone County, Indiana.] Thomas, William and James lived in 1900 in McMurray, Skagit, Washington. Thomas and William seem to be together in Sanel, Mendocino, California in 1920. Story Cooley and wife Lydia are in Tanner, King, Washington in 1930.
William Cooley's second MARRIAGE: Name:Anna Isenbarger Spouse Name: William F Cooley Marriage Date: Mar 1880 Marriage County: Clinton, Indiana
Well, none of this is news to you, but wanted to show you I tried! (Also it might help a future volunteer or relative.) Sorry it wasn't more.
