I'm looking for the parents of William Pierson/Pearson b. 1793 in Kentucky. He married Nancy Bird 18Feb1819 in Crawford Co., Indiana. He is living in Crawford Co., for the 1830 Census, but has a child William Bowles Pierson who was b. 08Nov1831 in Orange County where he raises his family and his sons help with a the William & Sons mill. He died 25SeP1863 and is buried in the Buff Springs Cemetery AKA Valeen Christian Church Cemetery.
He has 7 children that I am aware of: Benjamin L. Pierson b. 1820 John H. Pierson b. 01Mar1821 Phebe Pierson b. 20Oct 1823 James W. Pierson b. 02Jun1825 Andrew J. Pierson b. 01Feb1827 William Bowles Pierson b. 08Nov1831 Samuel S. Pierson b. 1836
There is a land patent for James Pierson in Crawford Co. dated 11/26/1822.He was probably living there several years earlier and may be the father of William.
In the 1830 Census for Crawford Co. are living James Pierson who is between 80 and 90 years old. Also living in the county are Rheuben Pearson and William Pearson (this is my William).Rheuben could be his brother.
In 1840 William and his son Benjamin are living in Southeast, Orange Co., Indiana. James does not show up any longer and has probably died.
Abigail Pierson married Joseph Funk on 03Jun1819 in Crawford Co. and may be a sister to William or a daughter of Reuben Pierson since he verified her age.The Funk family moved to Iowa between 1840 and 1850.
I've tried to provide enough information to put this William in context as he is often shown as the son of Meshack Pierson on many trees on Ancestry which is incorrect. The William that is the son of Meshack Pierson was b. in 1790 in VA and married Nancy Simmons in KY. He lived in Henricks Co., IN.
