The John Taylor in Bartholomew in 1850 is almost certainly the one who married Margaret Carter here, 15 Oct. 1833.All their children were born in Indiana. They were listed in Flat Rock Twp. in 1850 and still there 1860.The land purchased in 1851 was down in Ohio Twp., almost on the Brown Co. line, some miles away from Flat Rock; so I don't think they were the same John Taylor. The one in Flat Rock Twp. was a day laborer, and does not appear to have ever owned land.
Don't know what became of the Belmont Co. John Taylor who bought land in 1851; don't find him here in subsequent censuses, nor listed in local cemeteries in either Bartholomew or Brown. There was a John Taylor, b. 1784 PA, listed at Wheeling in Belmont Co. in 1850, but he was still there in 1860, with son Henry.
Marcus Linzy Taylor m. Rebecca E. Morgason, 7 May 1858, and they are listed 1870 and 1880 in Martin Co. IN, a bit north and west of Bartholomew Co.Looks like his mother died Bartholomew 1860-1870 and father after 1870.Did not find marked graves for this John Taylor or Margaret Taylor either, not unusual for poor people who did not own land.
