At the home of Mr. And Mrs. Wm. EMMERT, two miles north of Jamestown, on Sunday, 31 December, at 3 p.m., occurred the marriage of their daughter, Dessie M., to Oral C. BROWN. The wedding march was played by Miss Mabel SMITH and bride and groom proceeded by the officiating minister, Eld. W. H. NEWLIN, descended the stairway, and took their position under a bower of evergreen, where the ceremony was spoken in the presence of sixty guests. After the congratulations of assembled friends, had been extended, refreshments consisting of ice cream and cake were served. The contracting parties received many handsome presents and have the hearty good wishes of a large circle of friends. The bride is a member of the well-known EMMERT family and is admired for her winsome ways, and the groom is a son of J.D. BROWN, a farmer of sterling qualities who recently moved to Boone from Morgan county.
