After suffering eight weeks with complication of stomach and lung trouble, Judson McDaniel departed this life about 8 o’clock Wednesday morning, March 7, 1904, aged ___ (I believe it says 39 years), 10 months and 24 days.
Judson McDaniel was born on a farm three miles west of Parkersburg, Montgomery county, Indiana, April 8, 1866. In 18-8 (1808?) his parents moved to Hendricks county were he lived until 1874 when they moved to Jamestown. Judson was educated in the Jamestown North Salem schools. When a quite young boy he commenced to learn the drug business under his father, Mr. John McDaniel, and on April 2, 1887, he entered into partnership with his father, and has continued since in the drug business.
He was one of a family of eight children, six of him who have preceeded (sic) him to the great unknown. On Oct. 14, 1902, he was married to Miss Lulu Cole. To this union was born one child, a daughter, who with the widow, his mother, Mrs. Mary McDaniel, and his sister, Mrs. Lizzie Oliphant, besides a large number of other relatives and a host of friends are left to mourn his departure.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the residence conducted by Rev. F. K. Daugherty. Interment at Odd Fellows cemetery. The obsequies will be in charge of Luther Lodge, I.O.O.F. and Calument Tribe I.O.R.M., of which orders he was a member.
Note from Janet Price: This was a difficult obituary to read. You may take the image and enlarge it on your computer to read and verify. I took the birth date and death date and calculated it in PAF and came up with an age of 37 years, 10 months and 29 days. I am not related to the subject.
