I coordinate the Boone County Genealogy, INGenWeb website and I noted there is quite a bit of information for the HOWARD surname, so if you haven't already done so,I suggest you take some time to use the search engine and look around:
One item you'll find, is a biography for John Howard (http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~inboone/biographies/biography_howard_john.htm), however, burial/cemetery location and date might be in error? An excerpt from the biography below ...
" ... He died on September 20, 1869; buried at Union Cemetery. His wife died October 23, 1869; buried at the same place ... "
Source Citation: Boone County Biographies [database online] Boone County INGenWeb. 2008. Original data: "Early Life and Times in Boone County, Indiana," Harden & Spahr, Lebanon, Ind., May, 1887, p. 304
However in the book, "Cemeteries of Boone County, Indiana Vol I," by Rosemary Peterman and Marilyn Walker, it shows that John & Margaret Howard are buried in Brown's Wonder Cemetery and one date is different than shown in the biography:
John Howard, died 9/19/1869, 70y, 3m, 22d Margaret Howard, died 10/23/1869, 65y, 10m, 25d
I checked on the Find-a-Grave website, but it doesn't show any "Howard's" listed at Brown's Wonder Cemetery. However, there is no way to really determine if what is online is a partial or full reading of the cemeteries:
I believe from what I've read, that Brown's Wonder Cemetery is located in Center Township on Elizaville Road, 3 miles northeast of Lebanon, IN.I do not know if the cemetery is associated with a church for contact information.Perhaps a person who lives locally might be able to offer more information.
I hope some of this information helps you.
Please consider contributing anything from your Boone County research to the website. This is how we grow, and it's always very much appreciated!
