Is there anyone in Decatur Co. can locate the exact death date of Lewis Albert Harding, tha author of the Decatur Co. history book. I have his birth from the 1920 census, Feb. 1880.I've followed him in his long career as teacher, lawyer, and university professor in the 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930 censuses for IN, KS, WA, and finally, Indianapolis in 1930. I have his WWI Draft registration 1917-1918 in Spokane, his father, James L. Harding of New Point listed as his next of kin. I lose Lewis after the 1930 census that listed him in Indianapolis as a university professor until his death in 1944. I've written to the University of Indianapolis inquiring about their archives and whether Lewis A. Hardin continued with them until his death. To those interested, he was married to a woman named Inez C., born in ID, found on the 1920 Spokane census. He was alone in 1930. The 14 years are a mystery from 1930 to 1944 I'd like to solve to complete the MAYNARD/HARDING manuscript.
