Suzanne, Buzzard Hill is aproximately 1/2 square mile. It is listed on the map but is spelled with the z's and not s's. It is located in Jackson Township. Benton Township is farther to the east in the County. Buzzard Hill was once used as a land fill. Then is was made into a small ski slope called Mt. Wawassee. It was in operation in the early 60's and I think through the 70's. The ski lodge has been closed for many years now. We used to live on the SE side of the Hill and owned about 11 acres. THere are about 9-10 homes located on the hill now. Some of it is farmed but most of it is dense woods. I'm not sure as to the origin of the name. I always assumed it was because of the land fill and the dense population of the actual buzzard's that live there. But, I'm not really sure. Hope this helps. Beth
