Fred Baugher, 76, a retired American Coating Mills employee, died Saturday night while at a service station at Middlebury Street and Goshen Ave. near his home, 708 James Street.
He had been in ill health since undergoing surgery last April.He lived with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gilbert.
Born near Plymouth April 11, 1876, he married Cora Mae Kreider in November 1906, and moved to Elkhart.Mrs. Baugher died Nov. 13, 1950.
Mr. Baugher was a member of the First Brethren Church.He retired in May 1951 after working for ACM for 35 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Gilbert, a granddaughter, and a brother, Adam Baugher, South Bend.
Friends will be received today at White Funeral Home and at the First Brethren Church Tuesday, from noon until 2 p.m.,when the Rev. Robert K. Higgins, pastor, will conduct the funeral service.Burial will be Rice Cemetery.
