That appears to be proof that the Patriot Francis Lucas died Aug 1831.Where does the 14 Dec 1784 date keep coming from?
The "Lucas Burying Ground" cemetery is on the list to be cleaned up and restored.When I found it about five years ago only one stone could be found, that of Fielding Lucas.REportedly there were more stones there.
This gives me renewed hope that we may find the final resting place of Francis Lucas the Patriot after all.
We are always in need of volunteers to work on these project cemeteries, Gibson County has over 200 cemeteries, about 100 of those are old abandoned and overgrown Pioneer cemeteries.
