Dear Neva, I am not a descendant of Seth Walker, but I have done quite a bit of research on the Hancock Co. Walkers trying to sort my William C. Walker from PA from all the others who were there.I thought you might like to know that Seth b. 9 Sep 1801 VA d. 19 Jul 1874 buried Hays Cem. Brown Twp., Hancock Co., IN married 3 times.Probate records indicate that he had a wife named Mary b. on or about 14 Mar 1800 who was the daughter of Mosby Childers, a Rev. War veteran who is supposedly buried in Hancock Co., but whose gravesite has not yet been located. She and Seth reportedly had 7 children before her death 24 Jul 1841 and burial in the Hays Cem.I have some sketchy stuff on these 7 (possibly 8) if you want it.There is another tombstone in the Hays Cem. showing Elizabeth, wife of Seth, b. abt 1817 d. 25 Mar 1871.IN Marriages to 1850 (IN state library database) shows that Seth m. Elizabeth Rodger 3 Feb 1842 in Henry Co., IN.Harden's THE 1895 PIONEER HISTORY MADISON & HANCOCK COUNTIES, IND. states that he married about 1843 a Mrs. Rogers. Thus, I am not sure if Ro(d)gers was her maiden or a married name. She would have been abt 25 at the time she married Seth, so a prior marriage is possible.Seth's will, dated 13 Jul 1874 and filed 3 Aug 1874 shows his wife as Nancy.Marriage records in Hancock Co. show that he m. 2 Aug 1871 Nancy Cass, reportedly a widow. His will identifies 12 children, so I think he and Elizabeth had 5 children.I have a list of these, but again it is sketchy and needs to be verified.I have made no attempt to track any of these descendants down to the present, so I really don't know if any of Seth's descendants are still in the Hancock Co. area.I hope that you make contact with those you are seeking, but if I can add something that you don't already know about Seth, I'll be glad to give it a try.Happy hunting!
