Winifred E Sumney,92, former resident of 218 E Tipton St died at 9:30am Monday (March 7, 1994) at Miller's Merry Manor. Mrs Sumney worked for Sealtest Foods for 20 years, retiring in 1966. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Huntington D.A.R. She was born in December 7,1901 in South Whitley, to Fred and Mary Edith Anderson Harshbarger. Survivors include a nephew, Richard Walpole of Mishawaka; and a niece, Mrs Roger (Mary Jean) Doran of Carlisle, PA. A sister, Jean Walpole, proceeded her in death. Calling will be from noon to 2pm Thursday at the Hart Funeral home, where services will be held at 2pm Thursday with Dr Philip Granger officiating. Burial will be in South Whitley cemetery. Preferred memorials are contributions to the Trinity United Methodist Building Fund. End

I don't know if you're familiar with the area, but South Whitley is north of Bippus by a few miles (in another county Whitley (the courthouse is in Columbia City). And the Tipton Street that is mentioned is in Huntington.
