MISS BETSY KIZZIRE, daughter of JOHN and HANNAH KIZZIRE, was born in Jackson County, Indiana, Jan. 22, l845, going from her place of birth with her parents, to southern Missouri, where they resided for some time when they removed to Davis City, Iowa, in an early day, surrounded by privations that attended the pioneer days, where she continuously made her home at or near Davis City.
Aunt BETSY, as she was familiarly known, had been in failing health for some time. When the tender thread of life could hold no longer, she closed her eyes on the scene of this life, May 24, l923, at the home of her sister, MRS. SARAH HENDERSON, where she had made her home for several years and from where she will be sadly missed. She was converted in early childhood and was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church, remaining faithful until death, never ceasing to call upon her Savior for help, being always mindful of the welfare of others, and wishing to help all in time of need and especially in sickness.
She leaves to mourn, two brothers, one sister, one half-brother and one half-sister, many relatives and friends.
The funeral was held at the C.U. Church, Friday afternoon, May 26, conducted by Rev. Dale.Interment in Hamilton Cemetery.
