Thank you so much for the reply.I thought that if anyone would know about this training, a local Jackson Co. resident or former resident would be the one.
The only other info on the badge is my grandfather's photo, first initial and last name with an assigned number. The badge is circular and the round frame is metal with a pin fastener.
You might be right about the date....my grandfather's photo is of a much younger man than I remember...but I wasn't born until 1949...so 1940 to 1945 is possible.Perhaps he went there to learn to maintain and/or repair twin engines?
Do you know anyone who might have addition info about the operations of Freeman Field?Again....curiosity killed the cat, but this is something that I never knew my grandfather participated in.
Thanks again and thanks in advance for any other insight you might give to the training program.
