Aron McConnell New York, Indiana
I am looking for more information (and/or cousins) for Aron McConnell, my 3rd great-grandfather.
I have located him in the 1860 Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana Federal Census on page 21 (687).
Aaron McConnel 30 Carriage Maker born in New York
Nancy McConnel 25 Indiana
Margaret C. McConnel 8 Indiana
Edgar McConnel 6 Indiana
Ella McConnel 3 Indiana
Louisa Suttles 17 Domestic Indiana
My 2nd great-grandmother, Edith McConnell, was born later that year on November 15th.
In Edith McConnell Frye's obituary, it says her mother was Nancy Mayhall McConnell.
I was told that Margaret (Maggie) was a half sister to my 2nd great grandmother Edith McConnell Frye. I have a photo of Margaret when she was young and a postcard she sent to her half sister dated December 20th, 1916 from Agate Beach Oregon which she signed Sister Margaret C Smith.
I have a couple of photos of an adult Ella (Ellie). Both made in St. Joseph's Missouri.
I was unaware of Edgar until I found this census record.
My great grandmother said that at age 15, her mother, Edith McConnell moved with her half sister (maybe both sisters and/or an aunt) to Tennessee.
In 1880, Edith McConnell Frye is living with her husband William Henry "Cap" Frye and their 2 year old son in Gallatin, Sumner County, Tennessee. p37A ED209 They were married on June 12, 1877 in Bowling Green, Warren County, Kentucky.
She later moved with her husband and family to Tullahoma, Coffee County, Tennessee. Their children included: Carl Bernard (who died young), Irvin "Leslie", Henry "Harry", Ross, and my great grandmother Nettie Frye (Raney).
Information about Aron McConnell's family and/or contact with McConnell "cousins" would be appreciated!
