3. 1860, Sophia Smith, 51, is living in Johnson, La Grange, Indiana with 3 of her children from 1850 OH census (Catherine, Michael Jr, and Charlotte); presumably, father Michael has died and older chn have scattered.
4. 1870 and 1880, Michael Smith Jr is living in Johnson, La Grange, IN w/his family (Sophia died?).
5. Joseph G. Smith, b. 1829 Alsace, went as far west as IL before 1860 and may have been in La Grange, IN. His son, John C. Smith,was b. Aug 1862 per 1900 Erie PA Census, and variously says his father was b. Germany and his mother Mary J. was b. OH, Ill or IN 1834. In 1893, John C. Smith is a boilermaker in Erie, PA.
