ROBERT AMOS DAVIS was born in Marshall County, Ind., February 7, l859 and died at Des Moines, July 23, l9l9, being 60 years, 6 months and l6 days old.When only a boy, he moved with his parents to Iowa, in which state he has since resided, living in Clarke, Page and Decatur Counties for a number of years, but later moving to Des Moines.In March, l869, in Page County, he was married to ELIZA J. HAND, of Van Wert.To this union were born four children, three sons and one daughter, all of whom survive him.They are WARREN, ELIJAH and GRANT, of Des Moines, and WILMA GLADYS CHASTAIN, of Lacygue, Kansas.He is also survived by his wife, five grandchildren, four sisters and two brothers.
In l870 he was converted and joined the Methodist Church.He has been a great sufferer for months but bore it bravely.Funeral services were held at Lilly's Undertaking parlors, July 25, at 2:30 p.m., being conducted by Rev. W.C. Cole, of Capitol Hill Christian Church.Interment at Glendale Cemetery.The floral offerings were many and beautiful.
