Hi Constance, I hope you can assist me in finding these "lost" relatives.
Euphemia/Euphama/Fanny Drake was born about 1827 in OH, I believe that she married first, James Bailey 1/19/1845 in Miami Co., OH, then she may have married a Harvey Holcraft in 6/9/1847 (using the name of Fanny Bailey). In 1854 she made the trip "over the plains" to California, where she then divorced her husband "Harvey".She lived in Sacramento City and Folsom, California up until 8/1860, where I have lost her (although I can not find her on the 1860 census).I do know that once in CA, she took back her first married name of Bailey.
Mary Ann Drake has been the most difficult to come up with an approximate birthdate. I did find a marriage record for a Mary Ann Drake of 10/3/1844 to a John MacKay, but can not find her on the census, etc.I believe that she may have been born about 1822-1826, although it could have been earlier as her oldest brother was born in 1815, a big spread I know, but that is the most I can come up with.
Their sister Phebe Drake was born about 1832 in OH and married a William Mathews and had a daughter, Nancy.I find them on the 1850 census, but nothing beyond that.
Trying to figure out what happened to these 3 sisters.I am not sure, but they may have still been alive in 1860, as Euphemia asks about them in her letters "back home" to family in Wisconsin.
Anything that you can do to assist me in my search would be greatly appreciated.Thank you in advance.
