Perhaps you would have some suggestions for me here. This is sort of an exploratory expedition I am just beginning this morning.
Background:My grandfather and great and great-great grandfathers were named James Graham.James Graham's daughter, Mura Alice, born in the 1870s at Wayne Co TN was my grandmother. At this time, I have not seen (proven) male Graham yDNA results from Wayne Co TN. My FTDNA FF autosomal results for me (female descendant in this Graham line) link me with Templeton.:-)((A big deal to me!))
James Graham of Giles Co TN in 1814 and from the Carolinas was the first James I have record of.He died in 1828 and his widow, Sarah Graham, remained in Giles Co TN and was listed on the federal census 1830 and 1840.In 1838 Sarah's son, and my grandfather, James Graham married Margaret DICKEY.
As you know, with many folks claiming Carolina Graham the proof is hard to find.I have studied your posts and when I came to this one about DNA and you posted same in 2010, I thought I would make a first step here and seek your expert opinion.
To the point:TEMPLETON
On Family Finder at FTDNA I have notice of a match with a TEMPLETON whose GEDCOM shows his earliest listed Templeton born NC 1792 and died New Castle, Henry Co IN.The next listed Sami born 1832 Henry Co IN and died 1904.Last listed Homer J. Templeton born 5 Oct 1878 Hamilton Co IN and died 24 March 1941, Portland, Jay, IN.
Query:Would you think this proves the links of my Graham with the Templeton back in North Carolina?
I should probably do more research before making a query to youbut I just cannot resist the temptation after all these years.
