I would like to connect with other descendants of this couple, Isaac Lathrop and Lois Sawyer. I am descended from their second to youngest child, Isaac, born in 1811. Unfortunately, my Isaac died at a young age (about 1843) so I don’t know nearly enough about him. I am hoping to connect with other descendants in the hopes they might know more.
What I do know about my Isaac:
Born 1811 in NY
Moved to Jefferson County, IN with his parents around 1818.
Isaac married Mary Cobb (parents unknown) on 17 Jan 1833 in Jefferson County, IN
By June of 1834, Isaac with brothers Silas and Joel, were in Tippecanoe County, IN.
By 1838, Isaac and brother Silas were in Muscatine County, IA.
Isaac married secondly to Jane Brisbine/Busbine on 25 June 1840 in Muscatine county, IA
Isaac died in Muscatine County prior to 8 Mar 1843.
Isaac had two children:My 3GG, Hester Lathrop, born around 1835 to Isaac Lathrop and Mary Cobb, probably in Tippecanoe County, IN. Hester married John W. CEASE in 1861, lived the rest of her life in Muscatine County, IA, and died there in 1880.
When Isaac married Jane, they had a daughter, Mary Jane born around 1842. Mary Jane went on to marry John H. PURVIS but had no children.
In addition, through the generosityof another researcher, (a descendant of Isaac's brother, Ichabod) I have old photos, of Artemus Lathrop, and Mary Jane Lathrop with her husband, John Purvis. I’m thinking that my 3GG, Hester Lathrop who lost her own father at such an early age, may have been close to her uncle, Artemus because she named one of her sons, Artemus Lathrop CEASE.
So, I am especially interested in communicating with the descendants of Joel, Silas, Ichabod, and Artemus for the closeness they may have had to Isaac. But, ANY information from anyone would be most appreciated!!!!Of course, I would be happy to share whatever I have in my files.
