Hi. I had a typo in my last (probably one of many since my fingers type faster than I think). The KY marriage date should have said 1844, not 1811 (Rachel's birth date). Sorry.
I also should take this opportunity to clear up Samuel C. Oaks' 1850 census in case someone looking for this family reads this in the future. Since the children in the Oaks' household were never shown with different surnames, it has caused a LOT of confusion in the past. The 1850 census in Hamilton Twp consists of: Samuel, Rachael (his second wife), Doctor B. (Oaks), Benjamin F. (Sparks), Amanda (Amy Ann Oaks), Ariany (Ara Adaline Sparks, AKA Aryadny [various other spellings]), Samuel (Oaks), John D. (Sparks), William, Margaret, Mary (Oaks). And one printed census lists "Ariany" as "Amary". Aryadny married John B. Oaks, son of Daniel Oaks and Mary Lewis. That John has often been confused with John D. in Samuel's household. And George W. Oaks also in Sullivan County was son of Elijah Oaks of Floyd Co., IN, and not a son of Samuel as many have claimed.
Yes, the newspaper listing was at ancestry.com. Go to the more comprehensive search tab, click on Missouri on the map. In the list that comes up, choose Births, Deaths (whatever the total title is), go down to Pike County and click, then type in the name in the search field. It brought up the list of Oaks, and I tried other spellings. I also searched Sparks which brought up Marshal's name which was included in the same article. Unfortunately the actual newspaper images are not available on ancestry.com but it seems like a good one to send for.
