I will be much obliged to anyone who has a copy of Hamelle's History of White Co. and is willing to look at these Perrys to see paticularly if Joshua Perry can be traced to Joshua Perry of Philadelphia, PA who m. Rachel Davis d/o Abel Davis and Sarah Griffith, m. 1752 in Bucks Co., PA and lived in Pencader Hundred, Newcastle Co., DE. Abel d. 1790 and Sarah d.1796. They owned Iron Hill, Pencader Hundred, Newcastle Co., DE.On their deaths the Iron Hill property eventually descended to their relative, Isaac Davis who sold in 1841, 96 acres that included the ore pits to David C. Wood, Iron Master of Philadelphia.
I believe Abel Davis [1765-1847] b. Maryland who m. Mary Huffman in Monongaila Co., VA and d. in White Co., IN 1847 was related to Abel Davis [c1725- 1790]. Abel Davis named his son Isaac Davis [1804-1878]of White Co. who m. Mary Phillips as his sole heir.Isaac was brother of John Davis [1800-1880]who m. Mary Elizabeth Newland who d.in White Co. 1844 and is buried in Spring Creek Cemetery. The Davis family left VA about 1818 moving to Champaign Co., OH and on to White Co., IN by 1835. Realted families to Abel Davis of White Co include Benjamin, Luzader, Phillips Wolf, Welch, Smith, Huffman, Van Voorst.Abel of Pencader Hundred had a brother, Rev. John Davis of Harford Co., MD who m. Jane Van Voorst who is related to the Van Voorst families of White Co., IN.Thanks for any assistance.
